The word “Mella”, in many Ethiopian languages, carries meanings of solution, brightness, or dawn — a fitting symbol for what we aim to bring: a new dawn for African innovation.

Our Beginning

Mella started as a simple question:

“What if Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia could easily support the ideas that matter most — right from their phones?”

From that question grew a vision to create a crowdfunding platform tailored to Africa’s realities — one that bridges the gap between local entrepreneurs and global supporters.

We saw talented youth with bold ideas but no access to finance. We saw social initiatives that could feed, teach, or heal communities — if only they had a little help to start.

So we decided to build a bridge — digital, transparent, and community-driven.
